Women's Rights

This September, Licia Ronzulli, Italy's MEP, attended a voting session of European Parliament with her baby girl in order to draw attention to women's rights. She received applause and appreciation from her colleagues.

Intended as a a gesture intended to become a "symbol" of the difficulties women face in reconciling their work and family life. "I want to be a symbol, with my daughter Victoria, and I think all women who can not reconcile their work and family life," she said.

What a fabulous statement (one which should be obvious, but unfortunately, still isn't) that a woman can simultaneously by a mother and a productive member of society. Her little one nestling against her is so sweet, and the image is so powerful!
